The practice has 5 male and 6 female General Practitioners. Some of our doctors have specialist interests, including women’s health, men’s health, minor surgery, sexual health, dermatology, diabetes, respiratory medicine, cardiovascular medicine, orthopaedics, sport’s medicine and musculoskeletal problems.
Patients are allocated a nominated GP, however you are able to book an appointment with the doctor of your choice.
Drs Carter, Cole, Irfan, Singh, Rayner, Jenkins and Lord hold regular evening surgeries on a Monday evening.
Dr Anthony Carter (m)

Dr Tony Carter is Senior Partner and has special interests in men’s health and minor surgery. He has been involved in the training of new General Practitioners since 1998.
Dr Feraz Irfan (m)
MB ChB Manchester 1997 MRCGP
Dr Feraz Irfan has been a partner since 2005. He has an interest in stroke prevention and leads the practice anticoagulation service. He is married with 4 children. He divides his free time between his family and Stourbridge Cricket Club where he continues to play league cricket.
Dr Sharon Thomas (f)
BSc(Hons) MBBS London 1995 MRCGP DFFP
Dr Sharon Thomas joined the practice as a salaried GP in 2007, having been a GP Registrar with us previously. Dr Thomas works at Aylmer Lodge Surgery on Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday mornings. She has a specialist interest in dermatology, women’s health and joint injections.
Dr Adam Cole (m)

Dr Adam Cole joined Aylmer Lodge as a partner in 2009. He also works in the local primary care Out Of Hours service and is a GP Governing Body member on Wyre Forest Clinical Commissioning Group. His main interests include ENT, minor surgery and respiratory medicine. He is involved in the training of medical students at the practice.
Dr Gurjeet Singh (m)

Dr Gurjeet Singh is a partner at the practice with a special interest in orthopaedics, sports medicine, and musculoskeletal problems. He is involved in teaching medical students and continues to provide advice and support to Kidderminster Harriers football club.
Dr James Rayner (m)

Dr James Rayner is a partner at the practice. He has a particular interest in medical imaging, cardiovascular medicine and men’s health. He is the practice GP lead for diabetes care. He is married with 3 children and spends most of his time listening to the 4 women in his life. He enjoys tennis and most other sports given the chance.
Dr Joanna Jane Jenkins (f)

Dr Jo Jenkins is a partner at the practice. Dr Jenkins is the practice lead for women’s and sexual health including coil fitting and contraceptive implants and works at Aylmer Lodge on Mondays and Fridays and at Cookley Surgery on Wednesdays. When not at work she enjoys cycling and hill walking.
Dr Ruth Snowball (f)

Dr Snowball joined us in 2017 from New Road Surgery in Bromsgrove. She is based at Aylmer Lodge Surgery and works on Mondays, Tuesday mornings and Thursdays. Her leisure interests include running around after her 2 two young boys, swimming and walking.
Dr Sophie Lord (f)
Dr Lord joined the practice on Monday 4 September. Dr Lord works mainly on the Aylmer Lodge site on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings.
Dr Christina Harris (f)

Dr Christina Harris has joined the Practice in February 2018 as a Salaried GP and will be working Monday and Tuesday all day and Thursday mornings. Outside of work she has a keen interest in equestrian dressage.
Dr Samantha Robinson (f)
BMedSci BMBS Nottingham 2007 DRCOG MRCGP
Dr Samantha Robinson joined us as a Salaried GP in February 2018. She works Monday and Wednesday all day. Dr Robinson has an interest in respiratory medicine and medical education. She teaches at Warwick Medical School 2 days a week, and will be involved with training medical students at the practice.
GP and Nurse Training
The practice is a long established training practice, involved in speciality training of new GPs. There are usually one or two doctors working temporarily at the practice during the final years of their GP training scheme. These are experienced qualified doctors receiving training under the guidance of Dr Carter.
We also host medical students under the tutorship of Drs Cole and Singh, student nurse placements from Worcester University and have participated in the work experience placement scheme for 6th form students planning to undertake a medical degree.
Wider Practice Team
The partnership employs a Practice Manager, Quality Manager, Nurse Practitioner, 5 Practice Nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants – soon to become Nurse Associate Practitioners, 16 receptionists and 12 administrative staff, across both sites. Cookley Medical Centre has a team of 4 dispensing staff supporting this village dispensing practice.

The District Nursing Team led by Sister Eleanor Williams, will visit our patients if they are unable to come to the surgery for treatment.

Sister Glynis Ash has special training in the care of terminally ill patients and works with the district nurses and doctors. We believe that whenever possible these patients should be looked after at home amongst their family and friends.
