Time to Talk Day

Time to Talk Day – 1st February 2024 10am-12.30pm at the Arena, University of Worcester – a World Café event to create a safe space to talk about stigma – and explore ways to recognise it, re-educate ourselves about it and decide how to reduce stigma in our everyday lives.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Wellbeing and Recovery College, launched in 2021, brings together NHS, public sector and voluntary organisations to offer a wide range of accessible learning opportunities with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness on the 1st Thursday in February. This year it is being delivered in partnership with Co-op for the third year running. It is a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.

The more conversations we have, the better life is for everyone. Talking about mental health isn’t always easy and sometimes it’s even harder to say how you really feel. But a conversation has the power to change lives.

Our World Café event will create a safe and supportive, informal café setting for people to explore the issue of stigma by talking about it in small table groups an put forward ideas to reduce stigma.

They are inviting people to join them on the day to: chat (or just listen) in small groups about all sorts of negative and unfair beliefs that a society and people can have about others; help them to create different ways to change things for the better; find out more about local support and information that can help people; have a cuppa with a friendly people.

Alongside the world café there will be a marketplace of local resources and support organisations where people can gather more information, advice or help with mental health and wellbeing.
