Flu (influenza) is a serious illness that hospitalises thousands of people and sadly causes many deaths in England each year. The flu vaccine is the best protection for you and for those around you.
It’s important to have your flu vaccination every year, even if you’ve had it before or have previously been ill with flu. Immunity fades over time, and flu viruses change each year.
Flu clinics are expected to begin in early October.
Those eligible for a flu vaccine are:
🦠 Children aged 2 and 3 (invited to the surgery)
🦠 Pregnant women
🦠 People with certain long-term health conditions
🦠 People aged 65 and over
🦠 Those in long-stay residential care homes
🦠 Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
🦠 Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
🦠 School-aged children from Reception to Year 11 (offered in school)
🦠 Frontline health and social care workers
We kindly ask patients not to call the practice to book an appointment at this stage and to wait to be contacted.
📞 Please make sure your mobile number is up to date in your records. If you do not have a mobile, we will contact you by another method. 📞
Thank you for your patience and support as we prepare for another busy vaccination season! 💉🤗

Hume Street Medical Centre Car Park
Hume Street Medical Centre car park provides free parking for patients attending appointments on-site or visiting the pharmacy only. You will have plenty of time for your appointment and/or to collect your prescription.
This has been introduced to prevent inappropriate use of our car park, such as for visiting Kidderminster Hospital. This prevented genuine surgery patients from being able to park onsite to attend their appointments within the Hume Street Medical Centre.
